Terms of service

The terms for using QApp and its AI code review features.

Last updated September 19, 2026

1. Your agreement with QApp

Cognitic s.r.o., Pernerova 697/35, Karlín, 186 00 Praha 8, Czech Republic. Company ID (IČO): 09117741. VAT ID (DIČ): CZ09117741. Registered in the Commercial Register maintained by the Municipal Court in Prague, file C 331203. Contact: hello@cognitic.ai.

These terms govern your use of QApp’s website, application, GitHub integration, and related review services. By creating an account or using QApp, you agree to these terms. If you use QApp for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to act on its behalf. If you do not agree, do not use the service. A separate written agreement with Cognitic takes precedence where it conflicts with these terms.

2. Accounts and organization access

Provide accurate account information, protect your sign-in credentials, and notify us of suspected unauthorized access. Organization administrators manage membership, repository connections, review settings, and access to organization data. You are responsible for ensuring that these choices are authorized by your organization and the repository owner.

Only connect repositories and submit content that you are entitled to make available for the processing described in our privacy policy. Do not submit unnecessary personal information, production customer records, or credentials in review instructions.

3. What the service does

QApp uses hosted execution environments and AI models to analyze authorized source code, run available checks, and produce review findings. Depending on your settings, it may start reviews automatically, execute repository setup or test commands, use build or device services, and publish results to GitHub.

AI findings can be incomplete or incorrect. Coverage varies with the repository, configuration, available tools, and execution outcome. You remain responsible for reviewing results, testing your software, and deciding whether to ship or merge changes. QApp does not certify security, compliance, or fitness for a particular purpose and does not approve or merge pull requests for you.

4. Your content and our service

You retain your rights in the code, instructions, configuration, and other material you provide. You authorize us and the service providers necessary to operate QApp to access, copy, process, and store that material to provide, secure, and support the service, including delivering results as configured by you.

We do not claim ownership of your source code. You may use review output, subject to any rights in material included in it. AI output may be similar to output provided to others and is not guaranteed to be original or free of third-party rights.

Cognitic and its licensors retain rights in QApp’s software, branding, and service. You may use QApp as permitted by these terms; this does not transfer ownership of the service.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use QApp unlawfully, infringe others’ rights, access repositories or accounts without authorization, bypass access or usage controls, interfere with other users, or attack QApp or its providers. Do not use review workspaces to run unrelated workloads or abuse third-party infrastructure. Security research must stay within systems and activities you are authorized to test.

6. Private beta, availability, and charges

QApp is currently in private beta. Features, limits, and availability may change, and interruptions or data loss are possible. Keep independent copies of important code and records. We do not promise uninterrupted service or that every review will complete.

Signing in does not by itself create a paid subscription. Any paid plan or QApp charges require separately communicated terms. You remain responsible for charges under third-party services or accounts that you independently connect or use.

7. Privacy and third-party services

Our privacy policy explains information handling, AI processing, service providers, and privacy requests. Your use of GitHub, Google, and other connected services is also subject to their applicable terms. Their availability and policies can affect QApp. Where your organization requires a data processing agreement, contact us before submitting the relevant personal data.

8. Stopping use and suspension

You can stop using QApp and revoke its GitHub access at any time. Contact hello@cognitic.ai for account or organization closure and deletion requests. Disconnecting a provider does not automatically remove existing review history or GitHub comments.

We may restrict or suspend access to address misuse, security risks, legal requirements, or a material breach of these terms. Where reasonably possible, we will explain the restriction and provide an opportunity to resolve it. We may discontinue beta features or the service with reasonable notice where practicable.

9. Responsibility and applicable law

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the beta service is provided as available without additional warranties of accuracy, uninterrupted availability, or suitability for your intended use. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights, remedies, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including applicable consumer rights and liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence.

Czech law governs these terms. If mandatory laws in your country give you additional protections, these terms do not remove them. Please contact us first to discuss a dispute; competent courts are determined under applicable law.

10. Changes and contact

We may update these terms as QApp develops or legal requirements change. We will publish the updated text and date, give reasonable notice of material changes where required, and obtain agreement where required by law. Changes do not retroactively alter an existing dispute.

For questions, support, or legal notices, email hello@cognitic.ai or write to Cognitic s.r.o. at the registered address above.
